I am officially Google's bitch. Blogger was the last part of Google's free portfolio that I hadnt started using and now here we are. Damn their useful integration of features, simple GUI & excellent layout. The reason the last bastion of privacy has fallen is because I am now a second year PhD. I'm under the impression that I know things. This is in stark contrast to first year PhD when my answer to most questions was "*inaudible shrug*".

This shrugging period extended for quite some time and covered a great many blogs. I was very surprised by how useful they can be from a technical standpoint. So many head scratches and Google searches threw up answers in blogs where books and papers went missing. Inspired I was. As a result, in true PhD fashion, nearly 6 months later I get around to actually doing it.

And so here we are. Ignoring the grammar aberration there. Over the past year I have spent some time looking at network security, online security, any other type of security, intrusion detection, attack identification, Bash scripting, Python and a million other things. Whatever happens to be in my to-do pile on that day may well find itself on here. Although possibly in 6 month gaps
